BUSARDI was one HOT TICKET this #LFW and I couldn’t wait to attend the show - and BOY did the international prêt-à-couture label not disappoint. Known for its high-end evening gowns the luxury label brought a darker, more sinister mood to the romantic aesthetic it usually brings to the table. Working a divine, almost gothic vibe the label showcased an ethereal femininity to its demi-couture dressing. The designer unveiled a collection bursting with texture play – sheer organza and chiffon cascaded into decadent maxi skirts, working effortlessly against shimmering satin, delicate lace and embellished tulle and brocade. Thorn chokers made exclusively for the label, sat at the throats of the vampy models, reinforcing this opulent gothic glamour vibe that pulsates throughout the entire collection.

And, it’s not all about the red carpet dress. For AW14, Busardi brought decadent shifts forward – perfect for working from the boardroom to that top-notch bar – and other classical dresses and separates, taking the collection back into traditional Busardi territory. Not to mention the insertion of beautifully tailored, sharp jackets. Basically – in a nut shell – Busardi’s got it all for AW14. It’s a label with a 65-year old heritage that’s completely reinventing itself time and time again for the new generation.
