There’s just something about a parka, especially for autumn/winter. It’s one of those urban classics that never goes out of fashion; that lives on, style-wise, regardless of the trends. Pair it with jeans, your favourite black skinnies, biker boots, this season’s toasty tartan knits and anything and everything. It brings that cool, city-chic look to any ensemble, however un-put-together you might feel. And, the longevity of the piece will last a surprising portion of a lifetime too – I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’ve still got a hardwearing TOPSHOP parka which I purchased when I was in –high-school. No lie.

PARKA LONDON is therefore a brand you need to keep your eye on for this and the up-coming seasons. The debut label from a London-based design collective puts the parka on a pedestal. Their brand direction is effortlessly clear: ‘PARKA designs classic yet modernist garments for free thinking individuals who appreciate timeless design and are style conscious.’ AND, their aim is to create (in their words) ‘a passionate love affair’ between you and your coat. For PARKA LONDON as a brand, it’s the little details, and the little quirks, that count. They recount the words of Charles Eames, that: "the details are not the details. They make the design." A mantra the label tailors its team and their design aesthetic to. Think detachable faux fur hoods, luxe and inspiring linings, secret drawstrings and distinctive, flattering silhouettes – these details are what MAKE a PARKA LONDON coat.
