Party with Poppy and VERO MODA

The latest (and last) campaign shoot with Poppy Delevingne for Vero Moda AW13 is finally here. Taking place in the brand’s hometown, Denmark, the collection of shots and video prove to be just as gorgeous and just as glam as ever. It’s been one HELL of a fashionable year for the brand, staring the well-known face and model, Poppy Delevingne. Over the past two seasons, the top-notch brand and model have travelled around the world, exploring fresh, edgy locations and creating a whole hoard of seriously beautiful campaignes. Playing with cool architecture, and juxtaposing this against the soft feminity and slick lines of the collection, Vero Moda brings us yet another campaign we won’t be able to ignore this season.

The latest, much-anticipated (as ever) issue of ASOS Magazine has landed. Their cover girl of choice this issue? Zosia Mamet. And, as ASOS themselves said, ‘Quiky, weird and wonderful, the ever stylish Zosia Mamet is our kind of girl.’ Wearing ASOS’s Zip Detail Bonded Biker Coat, ASOS Long Sleeve Turtle Neck Top, ASOS Open Mesh Top, ASOS Jacquard Mini Skirt and ASOS Darling Trainers, Mamet rocked her dynamic look in serious style on this month's cover!

On being on the hit show Girls:
“I love every single aspect of being on the show…I have the most fun job in the world. And Lena – I don’t know if I’ve worked with someone who has so much responsibility but is so calm. She is just one of the coolest, most collected humans I’ve ever met…that’s an incredible example to learn from.”

On the appeal of the show:
“She made a story about kids in their early 20s, in an unglamorous way. It was full throttle, didn’t pull punches, and wasn’t afraid to make things uncomfortable. It’s entertaining and funny, but also dark and sad and unabashed and unapologetic. I think people feel they can really relate to it – like she was telling their story.”

On moving from LA to New York:
“I was incredibly lonely and I moved seven times during that first season’s filming. Then, during the second season, I fell in love with the city and suddenly it became easy and wonderful – it really is like no other place in the world.”

On her style:
“I’m not a girl who is going to put something on that I can’t breathe in or walk in or sit down in, I don’t see the point I like something I feel good in, that feels ‘me’.”

This week, I stopped by the Soho Sanctum Hotel in London for a gorge appointment with the lovely Mark Hill. Now, as you’ll already know, Mark’s won just about every award the hairdressing world has to offer, including everything from 2 x British Hairdresser of the Year (the Bafta’s of hairdressing), 2 x International Hairdresser of the Year and ‘World Supreme Master New York’…and believe me when I say these are just a few of his astounding accolades. He’s styled and cut everyone’s hair from the lovely Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby to Hollywood royalty, including the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer and Johnny Depp, and his array of fabulous products (wet and electricals) can be found on the shelves of Boots and other high street stores. He styled my hair just how I like it: BIG, BOLD and CURLY and worked his hairdressing magic when it came to teasing out my perfect style. The tool of choice to get my look? Mark Hill’s Wonder Waver…which, might I add, I fell in love with straight away. This super tool’s dynamic shape and curvature creates the perfect individual wave each and every time.

P.s. And, much to my delight, the said Wonder Waver turned up on my desk at work today. Thanks guys, you’re awesome! xxxx

So, I’ve got a bit of a problem. Not a FULL-BLOWN tear-your-hair out problem, more of a tinsy-winsy I’m-a-little-bit-obsessed-with FAITH CONNEXION-type issue (but none the less – a problem). What happens when you want ALL of the garments in a brand’s line? Not only do you have to generously expand your wardrobe (the boyfriend is not going to be happy with this) but the credit card is going to take a bit of a bashing, no? Not only this, but I've failed tremendously well to edit down my favourite picks of their SS14 collection (above and around you)...because, well...I can't, and more importantly, I won't. Every piece is luxuriously urban, effortlessly cool and totally versatile (as each garment works with another - even if you get dressed with your eyes shut). Basically, what I'm saying is: if you fill my Spring/Summer'14 wardrobe with the entire Faith Connexion SS14 Collection I'll make you a cup of tea every morning.

ANDREA DE DEUGD’s Metallics Collection

As you would have seen from my prior post: it's ALL about METALLICS this autumn/winter'13. Whether it was Marc Jacob's glittering catwalk affair, the gorgeous slices of metallic gold from Peter Pilotto or the slick, padded-shouldered concoctions from Balmain, the runways were alive with the shimmering reflection of light. Andrea de Deugd's Metallics Collection draws delicious inspiration from this trend and injects the metallic styling of the shots with serious, high-voltage hair. Effortlessly luxe, and beautifully dynamic - this is a collection of shots you won't be able to tear your eyes from.

When it comes to bling - it's definitely not the first thing I turn to. But, for this season, I totally get it. Liquid silver stiletto's, chain-mail caped necklaces, glistening rocks and decadent art deco earrings just calling to be worn with a red-carpet worthy frock are where it's all AT. Forget muted hues and wall-flower ensembles - do as Ri Ri suggests and 'shine bright like a diamond.'
