It was the show where puckered lips adorned fairytale cocktail dresses and model of the moment Cara Delevingne took to the runway in a bat-like dress (with so much style, she looked like she might take off). Giles Deacon really worked it this year for SS14, debuting his decadent Spring/Summer’14 line with a line-up of cool demi-couture dresses featuring the faces of models (including Amber Valetta and fashion icon, Kate Moss), crushed ice pastel pink dresses and chic-meets-urban prints (reminiscent of a candy bat print). Sheer buttoned-up shirts and everything else was accessorised with round, mirrored sunglasses, an atmospheric location – calling Stationers’ Hall – and an array of Adidas trainers. TONI&GUY did the hair, and called upon the classic full-fat braid for inspiration, tying in seductive flyways and a cool urban take on the original look for a contemporary new twist on the style. What’s not to love?

CHRISTMAS #Instagramed

For a sneaky peek into my Christmas here's a little Instagram moodboard showcasing some of my favourite gifts from the festive season. Designer Gabriel Vielma brought a smile to my face by sending me one of his gorgeous silk twill scarfs printed in London. Featuring luxe hand rolled hems, and arriving beautifully wrapped in a matte black presentation gift box, I've got no doubt that this little printed beauty will be sitting pretty wrapped around my wrist for the rest of AW13 through to SS14.

I finally got the gorgeous leather and suede ankle boots from & Other Stories I've been lusting after for a while now, while the boyfriend came up trumps with an urban, edgy chain pendant and pair of shabby-chic luxe shoe boots from All Saints. Not only this, but he followed these little beauties up with The Fashion Ache themed stationary (can't beat a bit of stationary) AND a beautifully executed perspex and matte The Fashion Ache clutch made by himself! To say I was delighted would be an understatement. ASOS sent 20% off in the post (thanks guys!) which, might I add, I put to VERY good use, while I also received an external battery for my iPhone for those trips to London when I ALWAYS run out of battery! No the feeling? Thought so! (Too much instagramming, too many tweets etc etc., you know the drill).

I’ve got a real soft spot for (hasn’t everyone?) and this was only heightened with the arrival of this season’s cult Bambi sweater and matching accessories. Italian designer, Riccardo Tisci currently heads the brand, and continues to win over the industry and the critics with his amazing designs and fabulous collections - having taken the reigns in 2005. Top of my wishlist for 2014? I'd love the Bambi sweat and tee to wear through till SS14 - I'd wear mine tucked into a luxe white A-line skirt I've just nabbed from the ASOS sale. And that zesty orange across-the-body bag? And those shoes? Okay, I've changed my mind. I want them all. Find all of these picks on the gorgeous go-to designer hub: THEN & NOW, where other delectable designer numbers also lie...

PRINTS-CHARMING - Vanessa G London

For SS14, our hankering for prints was calmed with the runway launch of cool, blocky horizontal lines (think Altuzarra and Alexander Wang), punchy fresh florals and a series of street-style, graphic prints featuring slogans, geometric themes and dynamic digital offerings. At Miu Miu a gang of kitsch teenager prints and colour-popping designs took to the floor, while block stripes nailed our fashion-lust at Alexander McQueen.

The latest drop from print connoisseur, Vanessa G is therefore right on the fashion money for the new season. Now available to buy online, the forward-thinking label looks to the past, and deep into the earth for its Spring/Summer’14 line. Inspired by the designer’s personal involvement in the mining sector, the latest drop combines unique prints with beautifully vintage designs.

I'm absolutely in LOVE with the brand's vibrant print shirts and charmingly tailored blush pink trouser suit. There's no doubt that this is an ensemble that will take you from day (be it at the office or a press event) to night. A tapered trouser leg here, a wide, perfectly executed collar lapel there - this is a trouser suit you won't be finding on the high street, and with the eruption of a fresh, pastel palette on the runways for SS14 - it's the ideal number to satisfy your need for the 'IT' hues for the new season. And, those shirts? Wear them tucked into a luxe white pencil skirt or wide-legged trousers for an effortless take on tailoring this spring...

So what do YOU need to know this week? Oh, just one small thing: that the cool, urban brand BRASHY COUTURE has just dropped its latest collection and lookbook with Giza Lagarce! Forget ordinary, these aren't your average tees. Work them tucked into this season's thigh-split midi skirts, or those leather trousers you've been lusting after. A tee - a cool tee like these - can be that effortless staple for your wardrobe, whatever the weather, whatever the season, and whatever the trends. It's all about how you STYLE them. I'll be wearing mine tucked into a leather-like white midi skirt (with pleated detail at the front), my new & Other Stories  leather and velvet boots, a slick biker jacket and a whole lot of attitude...

Balmain recently unveiled its Spring/Summer’14 Campaign featuring the style chameleon Rihanna as it’s face. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the innovative, dynamic shots were taken in New York City in early November 2013 – and BOY does Ri Ri rock those clothes.

“Dreams do come true... When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete. Not compromising, fresh, modern, the icon of my generation, Rihanna embodies my vision of Balmain in this new campaign. In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world."
Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s Creative Director

The campaign will debut in leading fashion titles worldwide in January 2014.

TONI&GUY: The coffee table STYLE book

One of the best gifts I've received this Christmas so far has definitely been from the lovely people at TONI&GUY. Rocking up on my desk last week (at quite a hefty weight might I add) was the hair-meets-fashion-meets-heritage global giant's coffee table style book, celebrating 50 fabulous years in the industry. And, how those 50 years have been LEGENDARY. Within it's luxury pages it covers a complete retrospective of the iconic imagery behind the hairdressing SUPERBRAND (each and every one personally selected by Global Creative Director, Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck). Every image is a crowd-stopper, a stop-in-your-tracks, I-want-that-hair kind of image. This is a brand that brings us a lot of the show-stopping hair on the runways...season after glorious season...and you've got to love it.
